Fingerless Gloves

Fingerless gloves, buzzworthy.mtv.com

80's fashion is still here and fingerless gloves have made a comeback! For a classic 80's appeal, try gloves made of leather or lace. If you are going for a modern look, try gloves that are bejeweled or shimmering with metallic fabrics. Be wary, be conscious; make sure that the gloves are not an afterthought, but rather worked into your outfit. Fingerless gloves have the propensity to border between chic and costume. Keep it chic! Keep it trendy!

Wanting More

"It is not for Geisha to want. It is not for Geisha to feel. Geisha is an artist of the floating world. She dances. She sings. She entertains you, whatever you want. The rest is shadows. The rest is secret." -Memoirs of a Geisha

The RTW Spring 2010 collection of Marchesa delves into the beautiful subtlety of Japanese artistry. Peeking into the sensuality and secret world of sexual innuendo, Marchesa fuses strength, femininity, and desire in an exuberant and clever way. For example, take a peek at this breathtaking Marchesa piece:

Alongside Marchesa, Michael Kors has designed parts of his Spring collection to add extra hints of sex appeal through glimpses of extra skin. Kors cuts through with the message of provocative sensualism. Check out this dress that will leave the Id gushing for more:

In the upcoming Spring, consider enticing your onlookers with a little more than a gander of your wrist.

ORANGE Zest: Featured Color of the Week

Quench your voracious appetite for fashion with the zest of springtime sun, the color orange! Associated with enthusiasm, excitement, and warmth, lighten up your wardrobe with this fun and flirty color.

mbfashionweek.com: Carolina Herrera

Orange has recently made its way into the collections of many - that of Carolina Herrera included. Herrera has designed a dazzling two-piece outfit with a beautiful mermaid silhouette. Her use of an orange print has definitely added a sultry flare.

mbfashionweek.com: Tuleh

Fashionistas, you could also sizzle in style with this orange number by Tuleh. This classic, double-breasted trench with an early 60's feel exhibits exuberance and a hip vitality. So when springtime comes around, try on something more lively; try on some orange.

Positive Psychology: Flowers

New York fashion week is among us, and I couldn't be any happier! Spring looks are blooming with grace, elegance and warmth. The season would not be complete without the universal delight of flowers, and no fashionista's Spring wardrobe would be realized without some form of floral print. Here are a few ideas to pop your clothing with color:

mbfashionweek.com: Cynthia Steffe

Cynthia Steffe showed at Mercedes-Benz fashion week a few days ago and this three piece outfit caught my attention. The floral jacket and matching shorts are breaths of fresh air in today's state of affairs.

mbfashionweek.com: Dennis Basso

Thinking more along the lines of a dress? Dennis Basso presented his line yesterday and designed this stunning floral gown accessorized with black gloves. Although the flowers in these ensembles are either more muted or blurred than usual, they - nonetheless - provide a sense of enjoyment. Flowers have always positively impacted mood and it's about time that we all take a moment to smell (or in this case, wear) the roses.

Dead Like Me

To my readers,

I will be taking a break for about two weeks to settle into my 'new' home. Life as a post-grad is a tad bit taxing, but I'm keeping it fresh with Play by Givenchy and white pencil eyeliner with light touches of concealer from Sephora.

In the meantime, here are a few fashion, please...don't: Harem pants (unless not too loose), the excessive use of gladiators, and sorry fellas - tights under shorts.

Stay fashion forward,

Row Your Boat

Sail away in style with a classic pair of boat shoes. Whether on land or sea, embellish your look with a dash of prep. Put yourself together with these recommendations:

uk.shopping.com: Rockport Bridgeport Boat Shoe

Brown leather Rockport Bridgeport Boat Shoes would pair nicely with a long-sleeved Oxford shirt, chinos, and/or Bermuda shorts.

piperlime.gap.com: Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Original

Not a fan of the dark brown boat shoe? Try these black Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Originals instead. You can't go wrong with a Paul Sperry shoe, so don't be afraid to rock the boat with a simple and clean flair.

Think PINK: Featured Color of the Week

Funny face starring Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn is one of the top movies on my list. The opening sequence of the film features Maggie Prescott - Quality magazine editor - who is in need of inspiration...something that is not down, dreary, or dull. Her answer: "Banish the black, burn the blue, and bury the beige. From now on girls, think pink!" If you're going to think pink, think pink with these dresses:

bluefly.com: Laila rose silk-linen tie back dress

Be pretty in pink with this Laila rose silk-linen tie back dress. The pleating above the waistline is complemented by the free flowing bottom half. The structure of this dress would flatter any fashionista of today.

bluefly.com: A.B.S. pink mist floral chiffon halter dress

Craving just a tad bit more of edge and feminine sex appeal? Try this A.B.S. pink mist floral chiffon halter dress befitting of summer sun. Summer is not over yet, but this dress would transition perfectly into Spring as well. Whatever the season, there is room for pink!
Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
